Early Childhood Care and Education
Harmony Research offers deep expertise in early childhood education and care policy and practice. As a former infant/toddler, preschool, and kindergarten teacher, our CEO shares deep understanding of the early learning environment. Prior work includes statewide early childhood needs assessments, evaluations and technical assistance on Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS), program evaluation of specific interventions, as well as research and evaluation of instructional models in preschool, home visiting, family engagement, classrooms quality, children's school readiness, and social emotional skills in young children.
In addition to research and evaluation, Harmony Research offers consulting to support providers, schools, districts, and states to offer the best possible services for children and families.
Child Welfare Policy & Practice
Harmony Research offers lived experience navigating the child welfare systems. Our CEO and founder is a licensed foster parent and leverages her real world passion in her professional work. We offer research and evaluation services to document what works in child welfare. We use research and data to support child welfare agencies to both prevent entry into care and support children, families, staff, and systems-level change for those interacting with the child welfare system.
Harmony Research also offers capacity building for multiple actors in the child welfare system. This includes foster parent mentoring, developing trainings for foster parents and front-line social workers, strategic planning for state agencies, and expertise in building integrated data systems to help you answer your pressing questions of practice.
Early childhood workforce wellbeing
As a former early childhood educator, our CEO and founder understands the importance of teacher wellbeing. At Harmony Research we manage a portfolio of projects focused on documenting innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges in the early childhood workforce. This includes facilitating a workforce taskforce focused on recruitment and retention, conducting program evaluations documenting what works in the field, and conducting analyses to better understand how to prevent teacher stress and burnout.
